Field Trip Enrollment Contracts are due by May 31, 2014.
Swim trips are considered Field Trips, as the children are leaving ISC property.
There are no refunds/credits or substitutions on field trips.
We will not be able to accept any Field Trip Enrollment forms without payment.
Please make sure the field trip dates you have selected coincide with the days you have registered your child for camp. If you have selected a trip without signing up for the camp day, we will automatically enroll your child for camp that day.
Please review the Parent Enrollment Packet for our policies and procedures on all field trips.
Parents are not permitted to attend field trips with our camp. Although we would love to have your help on these trips, with over 700 campers in our program we do not know all of the parents and cannot have parents on the trip that we do not know. This is for the safety of your child as well as the other campers.
Campers attending swim/field trips must arrive at camp by 9:00 am. Campers who arrive after 9:00 am will not be permitted to attend the trip. No exceptions!! It is a huge undertaking getting this many campers ready for the trip as we do and we are unable to accept any campers on the trip after 9:00 am. All medicine for campers that are attending the trips is prepared prior to leaving for the trip. We can not make any changes after 9:00 am as we need to make sure we are completely prepared to leave on time.
The field trip itineraries are listed on this site for each trip. Please review this information so you have everything you need to make the trip enjoyable for your child.
What to bring: All campers MUST wear their ISC Summer Day T-shirt on all field/swim trips and have their camp bag or a backpack. If your child does not have his/her camp shirt, bag or lunch for the field trip, we will provide these items and your credit card will be charged accordingly (camp shirt: $6.00, camp bag: $6.00, lunch: $3.50). Please note that campers do not have to use their camp bags, but must have a bag with their name on it to hold their things or else they will be charged for a new camp bag.
What not to bring: Cell phones ARE NOT permitted on any field trips. Our campers will remain with our staff for the duration of the field trip. All staff members are required to carry a cell phone on all field trips. Our staff has all of your emergency phone numbers. You will be notified if there is a problem with your child.
Sunscreen: On all outdoor trips campers should have sunscreen applied before they arrive at camp. They should bring sunscreen in their bag and our staff will remind them to reapply after lunch. Our staff will assist the PK/K with their sunscreen. A hat is recommended on trips where they are outside for a long period of time.
Water Trips: Campers must arrive in their bathing suits and bring a towel on all water trips. . Most field trips leave at 9:30 am so there is not time for them to change prior to the trip. We do not allow campers to change in public bathrooms on any field trips (unless it is an emergency). This is for the safety of our campers. They should bring a change of clothes with them. Campers will change when they return to ISC. The itinerary will specify if it is a water trip if you are not sure.
If your child does not bring a bathing suit on a water/swim trip, they will not be permitted to attend the trip and you will not receive a credit for the trip. You will receive an incident report at the end of the day letting you know that they did not attend the trip.
Unfortunately, we do not have time in the morning to contact parents if their child is missing their bathing suit while we are preparing for the field trip. We may not realize they do not have a bathing suit until 15 min before the trip. Our trips run on a schedule and we cannot hold up the trip to wait for you to bring the bathing suit. Please be sure to check your child’s schedule before they come to camp so they are not disappointed when they find out they are not scheduled to attend the field trip or are scheduled and not prepared for a trip.
Lunch/Snacks: Please remember that during all field/swimming trips (with the exception of the Laurel Lanes, Battleship, Loews Movies, and Medieval Times), campers must bring their own lunch and drink. It is also a good idea to pack extra food/snacks for field trips since some trips are long and they may get hungry. Glass bottles are not permitted on any field trips. Water is always available to the campers on all field trips.
If your child arrives to camp without their lunch on a day they are scheduled to attend a field/swim trip, you may purchase a lunch at check in. Packed lunches are available for $3.50 on field trip days. Lunch consists of ham/cheese, turkey/cheese or peanut butter/jelly (with the exception of the Sahara Sam’s trip) with chips or cookies and a juice box. You can purchase this on the morning of the field trip with cash, check or we can charge the card we have on file.
Field Trip Spending Money: We do our best to allow campers to visit the snack bar after they have finished their lunch when available. However, this is not always possible. We are often on a tight schedule and/or this detour could be extremely inconvenient on some trips. We do not want to sacrifice the campers’ safety or enjoyment of the trip. Check the itinerary for each trip to see if we have planned time to allow the campers to purchase snacks. Some trips we list that as tentative as we may just not have time to do that. For PK/K campers please put their spending money in an envelope (available at check in) and hand in when you sign your child into camp. Please put any special instructions on the envelope for our staff as to what they are/are not permitted to buy. The PK/K staff will hold their money and help them use it at the appropriate time. All other campers should have their money in their camp bag.
Return times: We try our best to return to ISC at the scheduled return time; however it is possible for us to be held up due to unforeseen circumstances. If the buses will not be back by the scheduled return time, we will send out an email notification. Otherwise, you should plan on us returning at the scheduled time. We are in constant contact with our Director on all field trips.
