Wednesday March 2nd is National Read Across America Day also known as Dr. Seuss Day (in honor of his birthday) for 2016. At International Skating & Fun Center in Mt. Laurel New Jersey, we fully embrace everything this day encompasses, and will be traveling to libraries in select locations to share in the joy of reading with the children at the library. March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday, and each year people across the nation take part in honoring his legacy by reading a book.
As advocates of this initiative and reading in general, ISC Mt. Laurel is part of the Read & Roll program. This program was designed to encourage children of all ages to pick up a book, and start reading. After a child reads five books, and has his or her teacher sign off on it, he or she can simply bring it to ISC Mt. Laurel and redeem their free skating admission. It is a great way to get a workout for your brain, as well as your body!
Reading is a great way to not only help your child expand their vocabulary, but also to:
- Form a stronger relationship with the parent
- Help them excel academically
- Improve their speech skills
- Improve concentration and discipline
- Help them think more logically
So, pick up a book and start reading! You could get a free skating pass simply for reading five books! We hope to see you very soon at ISC Mt. Laurel.
